Designing a scalable connection and wallet experience delivered
as an embeddable SDK.

Project overview

AppKit is a modular product that enables developers to integrate wallet connections and smart accounts into their applications. It sits at the intersection of end-user UX, developer experience, and platform constraints, and needs to scale across multiple use cases, brands, and technical setups. My contribution was not focused on a single feature, but on shaping AppKit as a coherent, scalable product across UX, system design, and delivery.

The challenges
Keeping UX consistent across multiple products using the same SDK
Allowing flexible layouts and configurations without fragmenting behavior
Structuring auth and wallet states into reusable interaction patterns
Scaling new features without increasing UX debt

Making a single SDK work reliably across very different products, contexts, and integration needs.

Design approach

AppKit was approached as a product layer rather than a collection of screens. The focus was on defining clear interaction rules, composable layouts, and configurable features, allowing different products to adapt the experience without fragmenting behavior or usability. Design decisions were made with scalability and platform constraints in mind, ensuring that flexibility would not compromise consistency or trust.

Design system

Alongside configurability, AppKit required a strong and recognizable visual language. The design system defines typography, color, spacing, and core components to ensure clarity, consistency, and a consumer-grade feel across products.

Defining a consistent visual foundation.

UX Research

As AppKit started to support payment-related flows, a small, focused UX research initiative was conducted to better understand user expectations, trust, and decision-making around crypto payments. The goal was not to produce statistically significant results, but to identify early signals and recurring patterns that could inform product decisions in a high-stakes context.

“Isn't that annoying that we even have to prepare to pay for something?”

User perspective on today’s crypto payment flows.

From research to product decisions.
